The AYANEO Pocket S might be the most beautiful & powerful Android gaming handheld yet

Published Feb 7, 2024

AYANEO just unveiled a bunch of details for their gorgeous upcoming Android handheld, the AYANEO Pocket S, and it’s giving us major PS Vita vibes.

The device will come packed with a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset, combined with the 1Ghz Adreno A32 GPU, which should give it some serious gaming performance.

But it’s the striking design of the Pocket S that really caught our attention. The rounded rectangular shape of the device is similar to the Nintendo Switch Lite, but the overall look reminds us more of the original PS Vita, in particular the translucent design of the D-Pad and face buttons, which are housed in a circular module.

The shiny all-glass front of the handheld also seems to be inspired by the Vita, but the Pocket S will feature a larger 6-inch borderless screen with a 1440p resolution.

No pricing information has been revealed yet, but AYANEO shared a number of features and details about the upcoming handheld.

  • Snapdragon® G3x Gen 2 Gaming Platform, 15W
  • Adreno™ A32 GPU with up to 1Ghz Clock Frequency
  • 6″ 1440P Borderless Mirror Screen (1440p for the Special Edition, 1080p for the Standard Edition)
  • Up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of Storage
  • Large-Area VC Thermal Plate + Active Cooling System
  • Three-Mode Comprehensive Vibration
  • RGB Hall Sensing Joysticks and Hall Triggers
  • Performance Mode Switching
  • Support for Mobile Game Key Mapping to Physical Controller
